Not Moving
I do not envy Morgen, who is probably running around terrorizing all in her path right now trying to clean house. It’s nice to be set up somewhere that’s close to everything and has reasonable amount of room for two people and a big dog. I can’t lie and say I wouldn’t rather have my own place, though. Leave the renting arrangement to the birds, find less house and more yard. Soon enough, I suppose. Ian promised that that he would not play his shiny new drum set until he built a temporary wall and soundproofed the basement, and that’s really lit the fires of industry under his ass. I’ll be enjoying the sound of banging hammers and swearing coming from the basement tonight. Lucky me.
This past weekend I escaped from the metro once again to try for some hiking in the Opal Creek Wilderness with my mom. We were denied the trailhead I wanted to hike because of a surprising amount of snow. We settled for a nice drive and a little walk in the woods further down the valley instead.
She was such a good sport about trudging in the snow in her walking shoes.
And the dog got to frolic and wrestle sticks and thrash through puddles.
I’m off to my LYS this afternoon to look for scarf materials. Something springy, I think. I invite any and all to come check this place out when you’re in town: The Yarn Garden. Or, if you’re a spinner, check out Abundant Yarn & Dyeworks. And if anyone knows where to pick up a used spinning wheel in good working order, I’m all ears…

One blog, two authors, two moms named Sandy, both now on the blog!
Very few people get chance of escape from metro. You lucky ladies.
